There is a precise order to life, a seasonality that drives us. So it is that after the Happy New Year banners have fallen to the floor, after the linen white sales have ended, after pitchers and catchers report and we start to dream of pennants, an important day arrives…
The parade, a true sign of spring, is finally on its way. The date is chosen, the route is set. The pipers, marching bands and step dancers have RSVP’d to join us in our grand parade. Of course, that’s not all we do to prepare. There are plans and meetings and letters and programs and posters and a very, very big dinner to kick it all off. Then there’s getting all this information to you.
Here at Parade Central, you’re reading this on our newly revamped website with much more information and a streamlined look. Our Facebook page will be offering up photos and tips to make it easier for you to enjoy the parade and all the related festivities. While we will not be live tweeting the parade, our twitter @StamfordSPDP is always a good place to go for snippets and tidbits not covered elsewhere. Also, we are happy to announce that we have new volunteers spreading the word to help make 2014 our best parade ever.
But it won’t be grand parade if we don’t see you. So save the date, come early to get a great viewing spot and enjoy all that Stamford (and being Irish for the day) has to offer!
